The Batman est un film de Matt Reeves. Tourné en anglais en 2022, il est sorti en France le 2 mars 2022. Il est un spin-off de Joker (2019), réalisé par Curt Geda, Todd Phillips.
Depuis deux ans déjà Bruce Wayne arpente les rues en tant que Batman et insuffle la peur chez les criminels, avec comme seuls alliés Alfred Pennyworth, son majordome et le lieutenant James Gordon.
Lorsqu'un tueur s'en prend à l'élite de Gotham au moyen de machinations sadiques, de multiples indices mènent Batman à la rencontre de la pègre. Il va alors etre amené à croiser le chemin de Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Oswald Cobblepot/le Pingouin, Carmine Falcone et Edward Nashton/l’Homme-Mystère...
