Adaptation de la série de comics signée Frank Miller et David Mazzucchelli : les difficiles premiers pas du jeune Bruce Wayne en tant que Batman. Combattant la pègre et la corruption, il ne dispose d'aucun allié. Mais un jeune policier idéaliste vient d'arriver à Gotham City : James Gordon.
