Cogan : Killing Them Softly offre une plongée brutale et stylisée dans le monde impitoyable de la criminalité organisée. La réalisation de Andrew Dominik est soignée, avec une atmosphère sombre qui colle parfaitement au récit. Brad Pitt incarne un tueur à gages froid et méthodique, mais le rythme parfois lent peut perdre ceux qui attendent plus d'action.
Le film mêle habilement critique sociale et thriller, bien que certains dialogues paraissent un peu trop didactiques. Malgré ses défauts, cette œuvre reste captivante pour les amateurs du genre.
