Godzilla 1985 est un film de R.J. Kizer et 橋本幸治. Tourné en japonais en 1985, il est sorti en France le 23 août 1985. C'est un film d'action, un film de science-fiction et un thriller.
Le seul survivant d'une attaque contre un navire de pêche, un homme raconte que des insectes géants ont détruit le bateau.
Selon lui, ces créatures ont été libérées lors du réveil d'un monstre gigantesque qu'il identifie comme étant Godzilla.
Ce dernier dévaste un sous-marin nucléaire russe, se nourrissant de son énergie et grandissant jusqu'à atteindre une hauteur de 80 mètres.
Il met ensuite cap sur Tokyo, semant la destruction sur son passage.
Les principaux acteurs de Godzilla 1985 sont : Raymond Burr, 小林桂樹, 田中健, 沢口靖子, 宅麻伸, Warren J. Kemmerling, James Scott Hess, Travis Swords, Eitarō Ozawa et 内藤武敏.
