Hal Jordan était un pilote d’essai ordinaire, jusqu’au jour où il a fait la rencontre d’un extraterrestre échoué sur Terre. Ce dernier lui a confié, avant de mourir, son anneau vert. L’univers de Hal bascule : le voilà propulsé membre du "Green Lantern Corps", une confrérie de guerriers intergalactiques qui maintient l’ordre dans tout l’Univers.
