Un meurtre va forcer Dom Toretto, un ancien criminel en fuite, et l'agent Brian O'Conner à retourner à Los Angeles, ravivant ainsi les tensions entre eux.
Mais alors qu'un ennemi redoutable se profile, ils n'auront d'autre choix que de faire alliance, même si celle-ci reste fragile. Entre des attaques de convois audacieuses et des manœuvres spectaculaires qui les mèneront au-delà de leurs frontières habituelles, ces deux personnages emblématiques devront repousser les limites de la conduite automobile pour mener leur vengeance à bien.
